One
F was never intended to make vast amounts of profit.
In fact when the first edition came out we sweated
waiting to see if our costs were covered, as we
were fairly gob smacked at the cost of printing.
However costs were covered and with a small profit
to show for our efforts.
We
decided then that any profit would go back to
the club in some form. So far we have sponsored
a Junior Bairns bus trip, youth players trip to
play in the Gothia cup some years ago, bought
fitness equipment for Alex McQueen and tools for
Jim Dawson. However, the main use we have made
of the profits is by sponsoring players jerseys.
We thought we could make double use of these by
donating them back for auction at some future
fund raiser.
We
have sponsored Ian Morris and Rickey Waddell.
We chose to sponsor these young players as better
known ones are usually snapped up first. Kiss
of death you may say after seeing the fate of
these two youngsters (Anyone want to buy an autographed
Ian Morris jersey? ed). They may just develop
their skills under John Lambie but after getting
first hand experiance of Lambie's management skills
One F seriously doesn't think so.
However
we have not given up hope and this year we are
sponsoring Hagi's jersey.
This
year we also decided to support the Bairns Trust
and use funds we have raised to the advantage
of the fans.We feel this is the best use of the
profit we have made as it gives us all a say in
the future of the club. If you are interested
in buying shares through the Trust you can contact
them through the website Bairns
