FALKIRK 1 - 4 CELTIC

Celtic chalk up a 4-1 victory in a must win game after only picking up a point at Kilmarnock on the opening game of the season.

Falkirk had a dream start to this game when Michael Higdon scored a peach of a header after being put through by Thomson. At this point in the game it was end to end action with Naylor sending in a cross which Tim Krul confidently plucked out of the air. Darren Barr then did well to put the ball out of play much to the frustration of Kenny Millar.

Donati was then very lucky not to see a card of any colour after a disgusting stamp on Patrick Cregg, this just the first of a number of baffling decisions by the man in black.

Higdon had another shot saved by Mark Brown and next headed narrowly over the bar however it was Celtic who were gaining momentum at this point in the game. Many of those in the stand had a feeling the equaliser would come before half time and it came courtesy of a blunder by Kenny Milne who was in the wrong place at the wrong time in front of goal.

HT: Falkirk 1 - 1 Celtic

After an hour the Falkirk team looked as though they had ran out of steam so Riera was replaced by the ever impressive Scott Arfield. Graham Barett was introduced for Russell Latapy but Kenny Millar had a shot fall for him after an acrobatic effort by McGeady came back off the post.

The next incident left Falkirk fans screaming their frustration in the stands as Jan Venegoor of Hesselink raced up the park closely followed by Darren Barr and Kenny Milne. Darren Barr looked to have tugged on the forwards jersey though this probably didn't justify the striker hitting the deck quicker than a sack of tatties. McDonald predictably and quite spectacularly mucked things up. First off he waved a red card when the tackle merited a yellow at most but did so at Kenny Milne who was left to trudge up the tunnel after doing nothing illegal.

Nakamura converted the resulting free kick and the unimpressive Jan Venegoor of Hesselink slotted a low shot past Krul to put the game well beyond Falkirk.

Falkirk will play worse and win this season and indeed some of the football on display was a joy to behold. More of the same please Yogi and team!
