Falkirk
made a dream start to this game with a well
worked goal and made a few other improvements
on the previous two defeats to Hearts and
Inverness Caley.
Within
the first minute Scott Arfield broke upfield
on the left, nut-megged his man and sent in
a super ball across the face of goal which
evaded the Kilmarnock defence and found Carl
Finnigan unmarked at the back post to fire
the bairns into an early lead.
Just
for once it looked as though this might be
Falkirk's day but in the 10th minute the bairns
conceded a corner and promptly surrendered
their lead when Frazer Wright rose unchallenged
to direct a header past Krul. Falkirk were
then let off the hook when Danny Invincibile
ran across the edge of the penalty area to
curl in a shot which came back off the post
and was eventually put out for another corner.
How
Michael Higdon finished the half with his
shirt intact was beyond most of the Falkirk
support. Apparently if you're a big lad then
you're fair game for a bit of jersey pulling
and Alan Freeland failed to spot this happening
to the big striker a number of times.
HT:
Falkirk 1 - 1 Kilmarnock
Although
Falkirk started the half brightly Kilmarnock
looked the more likely to score when Gary
Wales appeared at the back post to direct
a header goalward that was saved by Krul.
Falkirk
fans again found themselves screaming at Alan
Freeland when Steven Thomson received an elbow
thrown by the aptly named James Fowler. The
blunderman again had Falkirk fans out their
seats when Higdon raced into the box only
to be pulled back for a foul that Freeland
was the only man in the ground to have seen.
Higdon
Barett and Cregg all had shots on goal before
Pedro Moutinho and Russell atapy were thrown
into the mix. The effect this had was instantaneous
and Moutinho sent a toe poke wide of the goal.
FT:
Falkirk 1 - 1 Kilmarnock
Thankfully
Falkirk finished the stronger side when many
of the fans felt this had 1-2 Kilmarnock written
all over it. Big improvements from the previous
two games though the defence still needs to
tighten up.
